Qualifications:

Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience OR BA/BS Degree in Agriculture, natural resources, agronomy or related field of study.

  • Plant ID and RCW Monitoring experience.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, Forest Service Activity Tracking System (FACTS)
Duties:

Assisting ORD staff in monitoring of Red-cockaded woodpecker clusters during the spring breeding season as well as assisting staff with rare plant and vegetation surveys.

  • Botanical Surveys.   50%
  • Red-cockaded woodpecker cluster monitoring.   50%

Other:
  • Required Safety Gear: Hard hat, gloves, boots, safety vest, and long sleeve shirt.
  • Safety Gear Use: For conducting field work and observations.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to traverse wooded and heavily vegetated terrain while carrying cavity inspection equipment. Ability to walk through uneven terrain throughout the majority of a work day.
