OSBORN Family Health Center - OBGYN Department

FULL TIME POSITION

Osborn Family Health Center is looking for a compassionate, caring APN/Certified Nurse-Midwife Outpatient Only to provide well-woman checks, family planning, prenatal, intrapartum, and post-partum care to our patients as well as evaluating general gyn concerns, vaginal health and addressing pre- and post-Menopausal concerns.

Osborn Family Health Center located in Camden south Jersey is a few steps away from Philadelphia and a short drive to the Jersey shores and Pennsylvania suburbs, is a multispecialty practice encompassing Pediatrics, OBGYN and Family medicine clinics. The center was established in 1974 in a brownstone house that was donated by Dr. Edward Osborn, the first Chief of Surgery at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. For over 30 years, Osborn Family Medical Centers, has provided primary healthcare services to local communities, including residents and undocumented immigrants. We strive to provide high quality healthcare that reduces the financial and cultural barriers to meet the needs of our culturally diverse community. The Osborn OBGYN team consists of dedicated nurse practitioners, RNs, physicians, and clinical social workers. We collaborate to meet the healthcare needs of each one of our patients. Virtua healthcare system is the clinic point of referral.

Osborn Family health center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). APN working for an FQHC are eligible for up to $50,000 through the Federal Loan Repayment Program.

Hours: Monday 11am-7pm and Tuesday thru Friday: 8:30 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • Current New Jersey RN and NP license.
  • National Board Certification in one of the following areas:
  • Women's health/gender-related nurse practitioner- New Grads from OBGYN trained programs welcomed to apply.
  • BLS certification.
  • Knowledge of Intergy and EPIC will be helpful.


POSITION SUMMARY: The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive care in the Obstetrics and Gynecology outpatient practice within her/his/their scope of practice, in collaboration with, and as an integral member of a multidisciplinary health care team.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Independently conduct patient visits in the outpatient office.
  • Evaluate and treat patients within the APP's scope of practice including prenatal, postpartum, and comprehensive gynecologic outpatient care.
  • Order and collect data using appropriate assessment techniques, relevant supporting diagnostic information and diagnostic procedures where indicated.
  • Implement appropriate treatment and reevaluation of patients after treatment.
  • Perform office procedures consistent with privileges and competency validation.
  • Complete timely documentation of patient encounters.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide appropriate referrals for patients requiring care outside of the APP's scope of practice.
  • Provide appropriate patient teaching.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with the interdisciplinary health care team.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to patient comfort, privacy, and cultural considerations.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in continuing education.
  • Attend department meetings and serve on committees when indicated.
  • Assist in the education of learners within the department.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior in patient and colleague interactions.
