The Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Administrative / Office support for individuals age 55 and over to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through a grant administered program through National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions). This is a unique program where your talents, expertise and experience will truly be valued. You'll be working side-by-side with EPA staff that are doing important work every day. Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in similar regulatory-related work. OR BA/BS Degree in Engineering or physical science degree preferred, although job can be performed by persons with general technical competence.

  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS SharePoint
  • MS Office ( Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams )
Duties:

Work with a diverse group of environmental professionals to support development, evaluation and processing of local air pollution regulations.

  • Analyze state/local regulations for consistency with national policy. Work with staff and attorneys to develop understanding of Clean Air Act Reasonable Available Control Technology (RACT) and other requirements.   20%
  • Provide written and oral guidance to state/local agencies on national policy. Work with staff and attorneys on written comments and participate in discussions with state/local counterparts via virtual meetings.   20%
  • Prepare Federal Register notices approving state/local regulations. Work with staff and attorneys on drafting of technical support documents and federal register notices.   20%
  • Learn about Federal policy and assigned industrial activities.   20%
  • Other duties/special projects as assigned.   20%

Other:
  • EPA will provide training in air pollution technologies and policies needed to perform job.
