Financial Advisor


Responsible for partnering with the Financial Advisor to help build member relationships. The position is responsible for assessing member's financial goals, needs and objectives while providing exceptional personalized service and investment products.

Primary Duties

  1. Ensures members are provided with exceptional service levels. Cultivates and maintains profitable relationships with members and prospective new members. 
  2. Makes phone calls and meets with members to obtain information necessary to form a complete member profile. Explains investment services, discusses advantages of proper planning, and obtains background data on personal finances, family relationships and employment status.
  3. Makes recommendations to products to fit the member's needs and works to close the sale of those specific products and services.
  4. Meets with members periodically to review and update needs profile, ensuring investment objectives and goals are progressing according to plan.
  5. Stays abreast of market conditions. Educates oneself regarding financial and investment vehicles in the market and the tax and securities consequences to clients of particular investments.
  6. Drives investment and program initiatives, providing regular feedback to branch employees to leverage cross-sell opportunities.
  7. Supports product and campaign launces. Promotes credit union products and services, including prospecting new clients through branch investment referrals. 
  8. Participates in community activities to enhance the position of the credit union; also, participates in company seminars or presentations.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.


Must have a minimum of two (2) years' experience in the financial services industry, preferably a bank, credit union or Brokerage Firm.


Must have the following skills and/or abilities:

  • Must have an outgoing, proactive sales-oriented personality. 
  • Must be customer service oriented and must be able to work well under pressure.
  • Exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written). 



FINRA Series 7, 63, 65 (or 66) and Insurance license 

Clean U-4 and Background required

Special Requirements

Must be flexible to rotate within branch network to meet with members.

Physical/Other Requirements

Must be able to:

  • Stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Lift 15 lbs.
  • Climb, stoop, and/or kneel.
