CONCESSION WORKER

General  Purpose

To work in admissions and concessions for the City of Muskogee, Parks and Recreation Department.  This position is a part time temporary seasonal job, located at River Country Water Park. Applicants must be able work May to September, and be available for days, nights, weekends and some holidays.

Supervision

Under the direction of the Enterprise Fund Concession Manager

Essential Duties

To work daily shifts as scheduled in either the concession or admissions at the front gate. Handle admission and concession sales with great customer service and perform daily cleaning assignments.

Responsibilities

  1. Greet guests and take admissions at the front gate. Handle all sales of lockers, water diapers, apparel, etc.
  2. Operate P.O.S. System, handle cash and give proper change for a variety of transactions.
  3. Perform basic mathematical computations.
  4. Balance drawer and manage daily income.
  5. Communicate with public in a tactful, polite, and friendly manner.
  6. Clean restroom area on hourly schedule and stock all paper supplies.
  7. Clean lockers and clear of items at the end of the day.
  8. Gather and discard lost and found items.
  9. Assist in party rentals:  guest check-in, guest menu and set-up, cleaning of Party Island and Pavilion.
  10. Responsible checking bags and floatation devices to ensure all park rules are being adhered to.
  11. Alert the water park manager immediately for the following incidences: suspicious acting persons, intoxicated individuals, anyone with a video camera.
  12. Alert the front office immediately regarding mistakes or adjustments that need to be made to the cash drawer.
  13. Perform daily concession operations as outlined by the management staff.
  14. Prepare and serve food according to Health Department and standard food handling guidelines.
  15. Operate, clean and maintain equipment for food preparation(microwave oven, steam table, soda fountain, etc…) using proper methods
  16. Must be able to work all shifts as scheduled including, nights, weekends, and some Holidays.
  17. Must arrive in a timely manner and be in the required uniform supplied by the City of Muskogee Parks & Recreation Department.
  18. Notify Management staff of any emergencies if unable to work scheduled shift.
  19. Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times.
  20. Maintain a clean and neat work area.
  21. Receive and stock inventory as needed.
  22. Perform any and all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Must be at least 16 years of age. Have prior experience in operating a P.O.S. System and cash handling skills. Ability to communicate in a positive, friendly manner and have 1 year of customer service experience with general public.

Physical  Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works indoors and outdoors .  Employees are required  frequently to  walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The employee is required to use hands and fingers, handle, feel, or operate objects and concession equipment, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift, pull, push and/or move heavy items and equipment.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in outside weather and indoors. Employees will be exposed  hot, wet, cold and humid conditions. Minimal duties are performed in direct sunlight. The employee is exposed to cleaning chemicals that must be handled with extreme caution.
