International Logistics Specialist Summer Internship
Summary
The International Logistics Specialist (ILS) intern is responsible for assisting received inquiries and developing & executing transportation concepts for those inquires deemed vetted/qualified as meeting ATS International service capabilities. Under the supervision of the Sales & Service Manager, the ILS intern assists with customer and sales support functions.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent and enrolled in a post-secondary degree program with a focus on international transportation.
- Must have general knowledge of geography and basic map-reading.
- Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task.
- Must be a detail-oriented, organized team player with strong written and verbal communication, decision-making, problem-solving, negotiations, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work with unique customer situations and meet commitments.
- Must demonstrate patience, professionalism, and positivity.
- Must be able maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Must be able to demonstrate a proactive commitment to ATS corporate values and the success of all staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
- Excellent communication skills (written, listening and verbal).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize effective customer service strategies to meet or exceed established load, revenue, margin and productivity goals for assigned region and customers.
- Respond timely to received inquiries, RFPs, Bid Solicitations, and transactional service requests.
- Assemble and communicate customer scope of work requirements within LME system for pricing/planning purposes.
- Present quotes/indications in a timely and professional manner; solicit and communicate feedback.
- Ensure all booking and load requests are entered timely and accurately into LME operating system by following company standard procedures to ensure all loads are being delivered on time.
- Promote positive communication within and between all departments of the company.
- Maintain logs of communication within our TRAX CRM system
- Understands and consistently performs in accordance with ATS Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Support ATS' culture by aligning actions, behaviors, performance, and decisions in accordance with the Company's values as set forth in our All-Employee Competencies.
- Complete work responsibilities outside of normal business hours as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Compensation & Benefits:
- The anticipated hourly pay range for this position is between $18.00 - $20.00. Hourly pay rate offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location as compared to others doing substantially similar work . In addition to the hourly rate of pay, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/or company performance.
