Experienced House Manager for Luxury Family Properties in Miami and Costa Rica

 

We are seeking a highly skilled, professional House Manager to oversee the interior and exterior maintenance of our family properties in Miami and Costa Rica. As the House Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating property staff, managing vendors, and ensuring that the properties are impeccably maintained. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all operations and staff at Miami and Costa Rica properties
  • Ensure the properties are always pristine, organized, and ready for the principals
  • Manage vendor relationships, project budgets, and capital projects
  • Lead weekly staff meetings, maintain staff calendars and house manuals
  • Coordinate and organize special events, dinners, and activities with culinary and hospitality teams
  • Maintain security and safety protocols, including performing storm preparations when necessary
  • Address special requests from the family and their guests, maintaining a high level of service and professionalism
  • Manage finances, including submitting house credit card purchases and receipts

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar role in fine homes, luxury hotels, or high-net-worth families
  • Strong management skills with the ability to lead and mentor a diverse team
  • Meticulous, organized, and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Tech-savvy with experience in smart home technology and Microsoft Suite
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required. Strong Spanish language skills are a major plus
  • Valid passport with the ability to travel to Costa Rica for extended periods
  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Flexibility and a "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude to work alongside staff when necessary
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and dependable

 

Schedule:

This role requires the same flexibility as the hospitality industry. You can expect to work some weekends and some holidays.

Compensation:

  • Compensation of $120,000 - $145,000 commensurate with experience. 
  • The family is willing to consider employing a domestic couple for this role (they do not need a Chef); compensation range for a couple, $240,000 to $290,000.
  • Benefits include an annual discretionary bonus, health insurance, 401(k) with match, PTO, sick days, paid holidays, and more.
