Recruitment Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:

The Recruitment Specialist supports the RTS recruitment team by assisting in the recruitment process to attract and onboard qualified candidates. This role focuses on administrative and coordination tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient hiring process while collaborating with recruiters and hiring managers. The Recruitment Specialist is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about connecting people with opportunities.

 

REPORTS TO:  Manager of Recruitment & Compensation

 

COMPENSATION: $25.50-26.44 per hour (depending on experience)

This position transitions to a hybrid role following a 90-day training period.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Posts job openings on company career pages, job boards, and social media platforms as directed.
  • Screens resumes and applications to identify candidates meeting basic qualifications, forwarding promising profiles to the Recruiter for further review.
  • Schedules interviews by coordinating availability between candidates, recruiters, and hiring managers.
  • Maintains and updates the applicant tracking system (ATS) with candidate information, statuses, and notes.
  • Responds to candidate inquiries about the application process via email or phone in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assists in preparing recruitment materials, such as job descriptions, interview templates, and offer letters.
  • Conducts or schedules initial phone screenings as assigned.
  • Supports the organization of recruitment events, such as job fairs or open houses, including logistics and candidate communication.
  • Initiates and processes OPWDD pre-employment paperwork and stays current in OPWDD regulations/practices.
  • Provides general administrative support to the recruitment team, including filing, data entry, and reporting.
  • Stays abreast of recruiting trends and best practices.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in recruitment, HR, or administrative support.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Basic understanding of recruitment processes, including sourcing, screening, and onboarding.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and job boards (e.g., Indeed, LinkedIn). Knowledge of AcquireTM a plus.
  • General knowledge of employment laws and regulations (e.g., equal opportunity, confidentiality) as they relate to recruitment.
  • Awareness of social media platforms and their use in talent acquisition.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with candidates and team members.
  • Attention to detail for reviewing resumes, updating records, and preparing documents.
  • Time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills to provide a positive candidate experience.
  • Collaboration skills to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive candidate and employee information.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and follow instructions.
  • Ability to learn and use new software or tools quickly (e.g., ATS, HCM system).
  • Ability to screen resumes and identify qualifications based on provided criteria.
  • Ability to coordinate schedules and logistics with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to remain professional and approachable under pressure or when addressing candidate inquiries.
