INVENTORY CONTROL COORDINATOR
POSITION INFORMATION
Under direct supervision the Inventory Control Coordinator compiles and maintains records of quantity, type, and value of material, property, equipment, merchandise, or supplies. Counts material, property, equipment, merchandise, or supplies and posts totals to inventory/property records. Verifies and records computations against physical count of inventory, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
· Maintain purchase orders and ensure information is executed timely and correctly, brings min-max levels to Shop Manager for adjustment approval
· Manage inventory of parts; estimating future needs for stock, conducting weekly cycle counts
· Communicate with drivers, shop personnel, and various suppliers
· Issuing parts to technicians prior to being removed from parts department
· Ordering and receiving parts from service providers, verify there is no damage and quantity is accurate.
· Maintain parts room cleanliness for effective and safe use by putting away inventory, sweeping, and throwing away any garbage
· Review and close shop and service provider Work Orders
· Track and call for updates on equipment at local service providers for repairs
· Assign work to techs in the absence of the Shop Manager
· Tracking of sale equipment and trailers turning between divisions
· Working with buyers and auction houses on sale equipment
QUALIFICATIONS
· High School Diploma or GED
· 1-2 years related experience and/or training in the transportation industry
· Ability work with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
· Valid driver’s license
· Forklift certification or ability to become forklift certified within 90 days of employment
· Previous parts room experience preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
The Shop Support Coordinator will spend a lot of time behind a desk working on a computer and paperwork. There will also be many times they will need to walk around the shop both inside and outside the area. They may encounter dirty conditions when working with shop personnel. They also will be required to do some lifting. While outside they may be exposed to inclement weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
