Gettle Incorporated is a Design/Build Electrical Contractor who has served the needs of Commercial, Healthcare, and Industrial clients across the Mid-Atlantic region for over 60 years. Our highly talented staff consists of individuals with expertise in the Electrical, AutomationFire/Security and Data Communication fields. Gettle is currently seeking an energetic, dedicated and qualified Assistant Controller to join our Accounting & Finance department. The ideal candidate for this position will have an intrinsic desire to be the best at what they do. They will have the grit to work hard, a strong commitment to deadlines, a thirst for solving problems, a desire to grow and take on new responsibilities and a passion to collaborate with others. The core focus of the Accounting & Finance team is to be trusted by all employees as an elite support group through enhanced processes & procedures, access to information and accountability. This person selected for this position will be dependable and have the ability to report to the office location in Emigsville, PA daily to perform their work. This position will report to the company CFO.

Assistant Controller | Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Accounts Payable Specialist and provides backup for these processes.
  • Disburses funds to vendors.
  • Supports the Payroll Specialist and provides backup for the payroll process.
  • Maintains the General Ledger and manages it in conformity with GAAP.
  • Supports the CFO and provides backup for recurring processes.
  • Meets reporting and compliance deadlines.
  • Supports external CPAs on annual financial statement and compliance engagements.
  • Follows, reviews, and enhances processes and procedures within the department.
  • Actively participate in weekly department meetings with senior level members.

Assistant Controller | Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a public accounting firm, or in industry as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Controller, or an equivalent position.
  • Strong skills using Microsoft Excel with the ability to efficiently navigate and summarize details within large data sets. Confident use of Excel vlookup and sumif formulas, required.
  • Experience working within a database-oriented ERP system and general ledger. Experience specifically with Vista Viewpoint a plus.
  • Ability to report to the Emigsville office daily.
