Lab Engineer

Position: Lab Engineer

Location: Amphenol Spectra-Strip - Hamden, CT

Amphenol Spectra-Strip is a leader in hyper scale data center bulk wire solutions. We develop and manufacture gigabit copper cable solutions for high performance and cloud compute applications. We are currently seeking a Lab Engineer to join our team in Hamden, CT. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Lab Engineer, this candidate will be responsible for supporting continuous operation of research and development test processes.

• Become an expert in cable test and measurement methods.
• Plan, execute, and report results related to test processes.
• Collaborate with cross functional engineering teams to test, document, report, and design experiments and product improvements that support the customer and enhance organizational learning.
• Acts as a liaison to the Manufacturing Department during the implementation and validation of new materials, processes, and products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• Mechanical background preferred.
• Must be self-motivated and look for ways to contribute to the team.
• Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills
• Desire and ability to get “hands-on” and make sound decisions based on engineering principles
• Willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new tasks and challenges.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) for data recording and reporting.
• Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
