Group Leader - Wet Lab
This position is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the functionality and operation of the chemical laboratory.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Follow all short sheets, standard operating procedures and Amphenol’s company safety regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement in the department to meet department as well as business goals.
- Maintain Inventory Control within the department.
- Maintain all current records and archive when needed.
- Ensure analytical schedule is complete; Update analytical schedule when needed.
- Work with process engineers to development and perform all analytical procedures within the department.
- Maintain lab equipment and calibration including ensuring all service agreements are up to date and being fulfilled within the framework of the agreement.
- Train and certify all new Lab Techs.
- Maintain and update preventative maintenance packages in plating.
- Integrate with Process Engineering to implement process controls in True Chem database.
- Work with Process Engineering but be the lead in troubleshooting problematic analytical issues.
- This position may require overtime for coverage on alternate shifts and weekends.
- May be required to cross train in other departments.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Requirements: (Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses)
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and follow all short sheets and customer documents.
- Proven leadership abilities which may include prior group leader or coordinator experience.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, team-building and organization skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain/develop reports, and analyze data– Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office-Outlook/Word/Excel.
- Ability to work standing for extended periods of time and able to lift up to 35 lbs. safely.
- 2+ years of PCB experience in Wet lab preferred.
