Cargo Rail Loader

POSITION INFORMATION

Responsible for ensuring the correct tractors and accessories are loaded in an efficient manner on trailers and rail while meeting compliance requirements.  

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Loads agricultural equipment onto rail cars.
  • Secures and ties down all agricultural equipment loaded with chains to the rail car for transport each day.
  • Read and interpret shipping labels, manifests, bills of lading, and other documents used in the shipping possess.
  • Assist in driving tractors down from the factory during peak times.
  • Driving tractors to and from the staging area.
  • Conducting trailer inspections.
  • Performs other duties, tasks, or responsibilities as assigned.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works outside and is exposed to all weather elements, including: extreme heat, wind, rain, snow, and freezing temperatures. The employee frequently is required to stand or walk for long periods of time. The employee frequently is required to bending, stooping, climbing, pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs., and twisting. The employee frequently is required to move parts or supplies and has the ability to lift up to 100 lbs. The employee frequently is required to use fingers, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls, and to reach with hands and arms.
