? This position supports the Harper's Ferry Office of the National Park Service and may be performed remotely. ? The NPS Experienced Services Program is a unique partnership created to help solve the workforce issues facing government agencies. The program connects experienced workers (age 55+) to the NPS to provide scientific, technical, and administrative support. ? NPS ESP positions are meant to provide temporary, project-based support. This position is currently funded for an estimate of 58 weeks. ? A background security investigation may be required prior to the start date. Only those positions with 30+ hours per week are eligible for health insurance benefits; all positions will accrue sick leave. ? The experienced workers participating in the Program are referred to as ?Enrollees? and are not employees of the NPS or NEW Solutions. NEW Solutions is the ESP non-governmental organization responsible for administrative aspects of the program, and the Enrollees work under NPS direction to assist the Agency staff in carrying out their mission. NPS ESP Enrollees benefit from the opportunity to keep technical skills current; to access new training opportunities; to engage in gainful project-based positions; and to undertake meaningful tasks using their experience and talent to contribute to the environment, the national economy, and their own financial security. The duties performed in this job are not inherently governmental functions.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Experience in media development projects OR BA/BS Degree in Project management or media related field

  • Experience managing media projects, communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders to include media professionals both private industry and federal service on projects which range in subject matter from culturally sensitive topics to more informational messaging.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel
  • Adobe Acrobat; MS Teams; Outlook; SharePoint
Duties:

Facilitates coordination of complex project components to include work processes, resources, schedules for the planning, design, production and installation of media and communication projects.

  • Manage complex projects with one or more of the NPS regions as needed to relieve FTE staff burden. Projects include multidisciplinary planning, design and production work that contain a variety of challenges. Work with all levels of the NPS, including Washington offices, regional offices, park management, park staff and various media specialists to establish and execute projects. Work directly with regional offices to maintain ongoing communications and provide briefings and reports about projects to respective project managers.   30%
  • Mentor and work with team of media specialists to include AV producers and systems specialist, media planners, visual information specialists and other technical and administrative support staff in the scoping and production of projects involving multiple communications platforms    30%
  • Liaise with park staff on how they can work with Harpers Ferry Center. Maintain constant and open communication with external stakeholders. Advise on project cost estimates based on current market research. Monitor project budgets and schedules, identify problems and work with project managers to coordinate solutions. Determine staffing/resource requirements, identify technical and scheduling challenges and advise project managers on suggested corrective actions required    25%
  • Use project management tools, coupled with best practice media standards and USDOI/USNPS policies for successful completion of media projects and components. Perform other duties as assigned.   15%

Other:
  • Overnight travel: Approximately 4 times per year
  • Physical requirements: Work is primarily sedentary. Occasional travel required with some low-impact hiking and standing for short periods of time.
