Jr. Accountant

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a great opportunity for a someone looking to further their grow in the accounting field. This position will allow you to apply general accounting principles and use your accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger skills within our Accounting Department. The Accountant will perform the following duties:

  1. Responsible for processing and submitting the billing and entry into the Deltek system.
  2. Responsible for all billing corrections which may include contacting the necessary accounting departments and project managers as well as editing of invoices and processing in Deltek.
  3. Responsible for maintaining all billing files within and outside of Deltek.
  4. Responsible for processing Accounts Receivables, including the collection of all billing, maintaining weekly AR reports, contacting outside accounting departments and internal escalations as required.
  5. Responsible for processing Accounts Payable. Provides financial, administrative and clerical support by ensuring payments are completed and expenses are controlled by receiving invoices, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.
  6. Perform Payroll Processing which includes verifying and validating that timesheets status and codes are correct at period end and processing in Deltek and Payroll systems.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must have Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  2. 1-3 years of work-related experience 
  3. Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and ability to learn new systems.
  4. Positive attitude and enjoys working with others.
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment.
  6. Ability to work independently and exhibit sound judgement.
  7. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism 
  8. Salary is commensurate with experience
