Council Relations Executive
Position Summary
The Council Relations Executive (CRE) is at the forefront of our growing Council business. This role is responsible for Council Member engagement across a portfolio of Councils and leveraging a team of staff and contractors to create powerful networks of senior executives from the largest companies and organizations in the United States.
As a business leader, the CRE works to continually improve Member engagement, identify solutions, and connect Council Members with an array of TCB resources.
This key leadership role models The Conference Board values, fostering an atmosphere of curiosity, excellence, and engagement matching the experience that Members expect and deserve.
Accountabilities:
Reporting to the Senior Director, US Councils, the Council Relations Executive oversees roughly 7-10 Councils and leads a team of 1 direct report. In our matrixed organization, the CRE must work cross-functionally with Sales, Centers, Finance, and other internal teams as well as with a cadre of contracted Program Directors that help support Council engagement.
- Achieve and maintain high levels of Member satisfaction, value, and engagement.
- Meet or exceed retention and engagement targets for a portfolio of 200+ Members across 7-10 US Councils
- Attend all Council meetings, ensuring seamless execution and a high-quality Member experience.
- Welcome new Council Members in line with TCB standards.
- Facilitate vetting and confirmation of replacement candidates nominated by departing Members.
- Track data-driven metrics and implement proactive retention plans and identify and manage at-risk Members, executing retention or replacement strategies.
- Support Members in their interactions between meetings through TCB's online Community and other web-based resources.
- Analyze Member feedback and work with Program Directors to enhance the Member experience.
- Capture and share Council discussion highlights with Members.
- Address meeting evaluation feedback and incorporate improvements into future meetings.
- Drive growth by supporting the Member Development team; Collaborate with the Member Development team to recruit replacements and identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities.

- Maintaining value/price parity
- Drive agility and innovation by continually seeking new and better ways to operate.
- Support and develop direct report(s) to ensure a smooth operation and top-notch Member experience.
- Serves as a leader on the US Councils team, supporting colleagues, sharing best practices, and driving the business unit’s success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 8-10 years post graduate work experience
- 3-4 years’ sales, customer development, or client engagement experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Customer focused with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate and sell to C-suite executives
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of database management
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
