IT Director, Manager 3, Information Technology

Job Summary:

This is an extraordinary career opportunity for a Director of IT to join an innovative, community-based behavioral health and intellectual/developmental disabilities services organization located in South Georgia.  Georgia Pines Community Service Board is a public, not-for-profit organization with an annual budget of $25M and a diverse workforce of 300 direct-care and support staff.  We provide services to 6 rural counties with several locations. This person will provide internal leadership to further advance a performance culture that ensures that excellent care is delivered within a measurable, cost-effective, and outcomes-based framework. This position is an integral part of the agency's team and reports directly to the CEO with appropriate latitude for utilizing seasoned judgment to accomplish responsibilities. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Defines and prioritizes IT project requirements
  • Establishes IT policy and participates in the coordination of systems administration and network administration
  • Continually evaluates security needs for IT applications and evaluates the current options available to meet those needs
  • Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines IT employees
  • Monitors the staffs' installation, maintenance, and support of IT services
  • Oversees the development and implementation of IT projects and initiatives
  • Oversees the evaluation of the unit's internal processes, procedures, and technologies to improve efficiency and ensure quality
  • Provides expert assistance to customers in planning their IT needs
  • Schedules downtime and preventive maintenance activities required to keep all equipment in good operating condition
  • Works with other managers and staff as needed, in order to provide timely and efficient IT coordination in providing services to meet customers' requests

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate degree in a related field and four years in a managerial role or six years in a managerial role
