SCI Summary: SCI supports people with disabilities, behavioral challenges, medically complex needs, transitioning youth, the elderly, and other populations using the Maryland Department of Health's Targeted Case Management and Supports Planning work models as well as a concierge level geriatric care management and care partner model.

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Head of Design, this role will manage design services across the organization in collaboration with the Marcom team. Day-to-day work includes brainstorming, researching, managing requests and creating graphics and assets for campaigns, presentations, and projects, including production and design timelines that support SCI's values and strategic growth.

Essential Duties:

  • Designs modern and engaging assets, including presentations, ads, fliers, invitations, brochures, signage, annual reports, and more.
  • Creates assets for e-newsletters, email blasts, internal intranet, social media, the website, events, and meetings.
  • Serves as liaison to freelance designers, printers, and other vendors, reporting progress or barriers to progress to the MarCom team.
  • Builds and maintains photo archive including photo submissions from SCI Team Members and external sources for use in digital and print materials.  
  • Collaborates with the Director of Brand Experience in developing and maintaining SCI-branded templates for Team Members and internal/partners.
  • Partner with SCI Centers of Excellence on the design and delivery of branded assets including, but not limited to:
    • People and Culture - recruitment materials for use at colleges and career fairs, recognition campaigns, milestone celebrations, and internal events.
    • Program Team - storytelling and social media impact stories.
    • Government Relations Team - information sheets, postcards, and leave-behinds.
  • Develop assets promoting storytelling and social media features.
  • Supports work to elevate and refresh the intranet as a tool for Team Member updates, engagement, and a self-service library enabling downloads of creative or Marcom key resources.
  • Collaborates with the Marcom team on production timelines and regular reporting on project progress and outcomes.
  • Other duties as assigned, including supporting integrated marketing and communications campaigns, promotions, partnerships, and activation events across the organization.

  • This position does not have supervisory duties.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience Required:

  • 5 years of experience in graphic design services, emphasizing digital channels (email, web, social media, presentations, etc.)
  • Possess a creative lens and strong skill set for editing video, images, design, copy, and web best practice guidelines.
  • Have a strong understanding of brand development and multichannel marketing concepts.
  • Excellent listening skills, a team mentality, and a positive outlook.
  • Must be a coachable and professional with a growth mindset, flexible in leveraging new ideas, novel approaches, and solutions.
  • Ability to manage a variety of projects in collaboration with a team.

Physical Demands: Generally, presents standard office environment.  Must be able to remain in a stationary position >95% of the time. Continually operates a computer, keyboard and mouse, and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, and mobile Smartphone device. Constantly positions self to comfortably maintain computer equipment.  May occasionally be required to move about in an office setting or position office equipment weighing between 10-25 pounds.  Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. The person in this position frequently communicates with other people. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

IT Roles must be able to position self to maintain computers and equipment, including under desks and in server room(s). Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
