Position Summary

The Distribution Manager - Americas will be responsible for leading and managing the broadline distribution network across the Americas region, driving distribution strategies, and fostering relationships with key distribution partners. The role requires a strong understanding of the electronic components industry, distribution management, and sales strategies. The Manager will report directly to the Director of North America Sales and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Product Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive distribution strategy for the Americas region to drive sales growth and market share through broadline distributors.
  • Distribution Network Management: Oversee the performance and operations of the broadline distribution network, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Distributor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key distribution partners, negotiating contracts, and collaborating on joint business plans to maximize sales and market presence.
  • Sales Growth: Develop and execute sales initiatives in partnership with distributors to increase product penetration, revenue, and profitability in target markets.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Provide regular reports on distribution channel performance and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Product Management) to align distribution efforts with broader company goals and ensure consistent execution of product launches and promotions.
  • Market Insights: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to ensure the distribution strategy remains competitive and aligned with market demands.
  • Budget Management: Manage budgets associated with the distribution network, promotional activities, and joint business planning.
  • Training and Development: Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to the distribution sales teams, ensuring they are equipped to meet performance targets and deliver results.
  • Compliance: Ensure all distribution activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in distribution management, sales, or business development within the electronics or communications solutions industry. Experience working with broadline distributors is essential.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, manage complex distribution networks, and drive results in a matrixed environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the electronic components and interconnect solutions market, including trends, competitors, and key players.
  • Sales Acumen: Strong sales management skills with a track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth through distribution channels.
  • Relationship Building: Exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with distribution partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends to make strategic decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership and external partners.
  • Travel: Ability to travel as required (up to 70%) to meet with distributors and internal teams across the Americas region.
