Position: Quality Engineer
Location: Valley Green, PA

The HSIO CN team is looking for a Quality Engineer to join them in the Valley Green, PA location. The Quality Engineer will help to plan and facilitate quality related activities for manufacturing development projects by fulfilling the duties associated with FMEA’s, Product Quality Planning, Process Qualification Planning, Metrology Planning, Control Plans, Inspection Plans and Methods, Workmanship Standards, DOE’s and other necessary studies within a development protocol in developing Statistical Process Control.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as a team member to manage projects to assess quality aspects, report process feasibility & risks and make quality recommendations on how to proceed.
- Participate in definition of respective project plan qualification tasks and schedules for development projects that meet time to market (TTM) objectives.
- Interface with vendors, process engineering, product engineering and manufacturing to assure capability levels and documentation compliance are achieved in meeting quality deliverables.
- Participate in quality readiness at the site by providing the inspections plans, metrology, Cpk requirements and any special qualification requirements.
- Participated in product & process FMEA, characterization of product and process critical features and respective risk assessment activities.
- Determine initial inspection methods based or best-known methods (where applicable) and manage metrology requirements (internal & external)
- Define process qualification plans, inspection plans, inspection workflow, metrology requirements and workmanship standards for process engineering.
- Facilitate process qualification planning assuring conformance to standards and specifications.
- Develop, facilitate and control standards and methods both internally and externally for the inspection of CTF’s inclusive of accuracy, linearity, R&R’s, long term stability, FAI’s, Cmk’s and Cpk’s.
- Support the analysis of defined risk areas and experimentation, proof of principle tooling, feasibility studies, capability studies, detailed design and analysis, DOE, passive data collection (PDC) and or basic technology searches and development.
- Assist process development engineers and mechanical Integrity engineers in the (data & statistical) analysis of feasibility studies, DOE’s, passive data collection’s (PDC) and capability studies.
- Assist product and process engineering in the reconciliation of First Article Inspections, Capability Studies and Comparison Studies through corrective actions driven by root cause analysis that incorporate process improvement tools.
- Work with outside consulting houses as an extension of the engineering department.
- Interface with site quality, engineering, and other departments throughout final phases of development and pre-release to manufacturing.
- Transfer all quality pertinent documentation to the receiving manufacturing site.
- Coordinate and or participate in the metrology transfer and training to respective personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College in engineering, Quality Assurance; or six to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the internal Amphenol groups.
- Ability to effectively identify and eliminate common cause variation within continuous or batch processes through the use of solid practices and analysis in establishing statistical process control (SPC)
- Ability to define and generate Quality Plans, Control Plans and Workmanship Standards.
- Ability to provide qualification assessments related to product/process risks, capability and manufacturability.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, vendors, engineers and manufacturing site representatives.
- Should have knowledge and skills using:
- Microsoft Suit (Power Point, Excel, Word, SharePoint)
- Measurement System Analysis
- Statistical analysis software (Minitab)
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
- Strong Knowledge of Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility
- Demonstrated skill and knowledge to train individuals and teams.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with minimal supervision and provide updates on project status where issues or problems can be reviewed, discussed and resolved.
