Service Manager
Hull Lift Truck, Inc. is currently seeking a Service Manager at our Elkhart, IN facility. The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shop and works closely with the parts, rental, sales, and transportation departments. The operations department is responsible for servicing industrial equipment, including forklifts, related attachments, floor cleaning equipment, and aerial lift equipment.
It is the Service Manager's duty to coordinate activities with the various departments and ensure that the service team performs the necessary functions to achieve and maintain the company's customer satisfaction objectives.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Be a steward of corporate culture while promoting corporate goals, philosophies, and strategies at the branch level.
- Build repair estimates for external and internal customers and ensure timely delivery to customers with explanation of proposed services.
- Day to day customer communication to provide status updates in a timely fashion.
- Develop and maintain a professional and productive operations team that are properly trained and reliable.
- Maintain discipline and efficiency in scheduling the work of shop technicians and managing their productivity.
- Maintain a safe work environment with a strong working knowledge of the company's safety rules and regulations, as well as our customer's safety rules.
- Provide high quality leadership, grow service department revenues, maintain profitability.
Qualifications & Education
- 3 to 5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience in an operation, technical or mechanical environment.
- Prior experience in the Material Handling Industry not required but helpful.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to contact customers in a professional manor, both by phone and personally when needed.
- Proven ability to motivate personnel to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and running reports in company's business system.
- Working knowledge of LEAN business principles and practices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
