Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in working as a Contracting Officer?s Representative and/or Contracting Officer/Specialist that has frequently worked with CORs OR AA/HS Degree OR Previously completed training in federal acquisitions

  • Experience with federal acquisitions basics and the role of the COR in the acquisition lifecycle. Awareness of the mission, organization, and culture of the National Park Service.
  • Self-starter willing to take initiative to try new things, solve problems, and manage change. Skill in working with others and providing excellence in customer service.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point
  • Adobe Acrobat; MS Teams, Zoom, Outlook, Learning or knowledge management tools for web development, document organization, and training delivery such as Microsoft SharePoint
Duties:

Serve as a Contracting Officer?s Representative (COR) Program Specialist, supporting over 2,000 CORs across the NPS by developing training and associated training administration & program management functions.

  • Working with internal SMEs, use background with government acquisition and/or COR experience to develop learning and development resources for NPS CORs and associated stakeholders. These can include but need not be limited to formal training, job aids, presentations, videos, websites, live virtual training, examples, templates etc.    40%
  • Coordinate input from subject matter experts (SMEs) to inform program activities and materials.    15%
  • Work with CORs to help them navigate requirements and recommend training & development. Conduct review and approval actions in support of certification program.   20%
  • Present training material in a variety of formats, including but not limited to webinar format. Produce virtual events in platforms such as Zoom and MS Teams (hosting, moderation, recording, tracking, reporting). Coordinate training logistics including communications, registration, tracking, and award of credit for training completion for a variety of training programs.   15%
  • Manage and track multiple projects. Role model collaboration and teamwork across projects and with multiple stakeholder groups.   5%
  • Share ideas and suggestions related to strategic initiatives and projects and during document reviews.   5%

  • Required Certifications: Current COR certification is NOT required but applicant should have previously served as a certified COR, COTR, or CO in the past.
  • Physical requirements: Work is primarily sedentary and performed in an office environment.
