Product Engineer

Position Summary: Product Engineer
Location: Amphenol: Valley Green, PA
ACS, a division of Amphenol, is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobil Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEM's globally. Our global headquarters are located in Wallingford, CT and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally.
We are currently seeking a Product Engineer to join our team. The position will be located in Valley Green, PA. As a Product Engineer for connector Mezzanine Products you will be responsible for derivative design, customer application support, verification and qualification, as well as supporting new business opportunities. This position will serve as the key product engineering representative in the manufacturing plant to support manufacturing, component, documentation, and quality issues as they arise. The position will work as part of a global cross-functional team and include customer interaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review product drawings and product tolerancing to ensure product performance requirements are met.
- Develop innovative product solutions.
- Utilize 3D CAD software to develop designs.
- Prepare samples for study.
- Collect, record, and analyze data.
- Develop and review product performance specifications.
- Provide suggestions during incident investigations.
- Advise on corrective actions.
- Work with manufacturing engineers to develop a cost-effective and working production process.
- Ensure projects are completed on time.
- Ensure designs are cost effective.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient in 3D modeling using Solidworks
- General understanding of drawing standards such as ASME Y14.5.
- General understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Ability to communicate well with Global Customers and all levels of the organization including Management, Marketing, Sales, Process Engineering, Test Lab personnel, other Engineers (local and global).
- Ability to prioritize, work to meet objectives and to manage multiple activities/projects simultaneously.
This position requires access to controlled technology that is subject to US export controls.
