Purchaser
Techmation Electric & Controls is currently hiring a Purchaser for our Fort St John location. The shift is Monday to Friday, with 40 hours per week. While Parts Technician Level 1, 2, or Red Seal certification is not mandatory, possessing it would be considered an asset. Priority will be given to candidates with relevant oil field instrumentation and electrical experience.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee/ Completion of purchase orders, requisitions, RMA’s, and TMRs for material, goods, and supplies
- Communicate and coordinate workloads with Techmation's central purchasing department
- Communicate and coordinate with Project Managers and Management
- Maintain regular interaction with suppliers, ensuring Techmation is receiving competitive pricing and always exploring alternative solutions
- Effectively communicate with Maintenance and Construction Managers, field staff, and customers
- Manage inventory levels and perform inventory cycle and audit counts
- Provide direction and leadership to the purchasing department and the shipper receiver
- Coordinate shipping and receiving for all of Fort St. John’s departments
- Attend and contribute to office meetings
- Provide required purchasing KPIs and reports as necessary
- Ensure a clean and organized and safe work environment
- Utilize equipment such as forklifts, bobcats, or zoom booms
- Drive company-supplied vehicles
- Be available for after-hours callouts if required
- This position is a safety sensitive position
Requirements:
- Priority given to candidates with relevant oil field instrumentation and electrical experience
- Prior experience in a purchasing role is preferred
- Familiarity with shipping/receiving, hotshot pickups/deliveries, and shop labor is advantageous
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of the North-East BC area and Fort St. John
- Residency within commuting distance of Fort St John
- Proficiency in operating a forklift
- Must have strong computer skills, including proficiency in Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams etc..) and Windows, training for other Applications will be provided
- Availability for possibility of after-hours callouts
