Shipper/Receiver
Techmation Electric & Controls Ltd is currently accepting resumes for a Shipper/Receiver position at our Fort St John, BC branch. The shift is Monday to Friday, with 40 hours per week. Candidates must have a valid drivers license as they will be required to perform hot shots and be in good physical condition as position requires frequent lifting.
The job responsibilities for this Shipper/Receiver position are as follows:
- Perform various labour duties within a shop environment
- Conduct parts pickup and deliveries
- Receiving of equipment to be repaired
- Signing in and out company owned equipment while ensuring it is maintained in good working order; as well as tracking of equipment on internal system
- Maintain a clean shop environment; as well as yard maintenance when required (snow clearing, sand, ice salting, moving equipment and material around the yard)
- Placing pickup items on proper job shelves; ensuring floors are kept as clean and clear as possible
- Ensure the return shelf is kept clean and empty; provide feedback to project managers and managers when employees are not following proper procedures
- Offloading all shipments with the use of a forklift, bobcat, or zoom boom
- Perform hotshots as required; complete deliveries to customer warehouses within town
- Receiving, counting and storing of company and customer inventory
- Pick parts for inventory, sea-cans, and cable yard orders as required
- Counting and restocking of inventory items
- The individual chosen for this position will take direction from managers, the shop foreman, and purchasers with the intent of being stationed in the parts area
Requirements:
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving, hotshot pickup/deliveries, and shop labour is an asset
- Must have H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, Fall Protection, CSTS 2020 Fundamentals and Driving & Journey Management certificates
- Must have a Valid Class 5 drivers license with a Clean Drivers Abstract
- Must have the ability to operate a forklift and zoom boom
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A good knowledge of the North-East BC area and Fort St. John
- Candidates must be located within commuting distance of Fort St John to be considered
