Electrical/Avionics Inspector

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As part of the Quality Assurance Team, responsibilities of the Electrical/Avionics Inspector will include providing support for all communication, navigation, guidance systems, HVAC, pressurization, and lighting. You will inspect, test, and calibrate avionics systems to ensure that those systems are working properly. When applicable, will select the inspection method, determine test equipment, calibrate test equipment to standards, and evaluate results. Additionally, the Inspector researches, prepares, and signs off various inspection reports and job sequences for record-keeping purposes as required. Will also monitor and maintain test equipment and work area as required. The inspector works in conjunction with the engineering and manufacturing departments. Other expectations may include:

  • Ensure all technical work is performed and documented to appropriate Epic Aircraft specifications, drawings, and applicable reference publications
  • Perform Avionics Inspections to ensure equipment compliance
  • Coordinate inspection requirements for development, hardware/software design, verification, and validation activities
  • Verify drawings and prepare engineering change requests (ECRs) as required
  • May assist in providing technical support to a wide range of difficult problems for quick resolution
  • May work under limited supervision
  • Knowledge of document control and ability to follow drawing revision processes
  • Write Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when a product fails to meet Epic drawings and specifications
  • Incoming quality receiving inspection of Avionics parts, assemblies, and wiring harnesses
  • Recognize and initiate action regarding unsafe conditions

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM 

  • Aerospace experience is required
  • 2-5 years of experience with Electrical and/or Avionics Inspection processes is required
  • A Bachelor's degree or certification in an applicable field is helpful but not required
  • Knowledgeable with GARMIN G1000, G5000, G3X, etc. desirable
  • Understanding of aircraft certification processes and associated FAA regulations and requirements
  • Able to interface effectively with the quality team, multiple departments, management, and the FAA
  • Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills are required
  • Demonstrated ability to understand CAD drawings & electrical schematics
  • Experience with harness making, troubleshooting, and or modification is preferred, but not required
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future
