For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States. NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS). These experienced professionals provide administrative, scientific, and technical support to the Agricultural Research Service through the Experienced Worker Program (EWP). *This position will be open until filled.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in ALL Administrative Duties - 20 years of administrative duties with ARS beginning as PSA, secretary, travel specialist, management analyst. OR AA Degree in Previous certification as addictions counselor with 15 years' experience and 20 years of administrative duties with ARS beginning as PSA, secretary, travel specialist, management analyst.

  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point
  • CONCUR, ARIS, CATS, eHR, and Teams
Duties:

In support Area Office in coordinating and facilitating a wide range of activities related to the Area?s Business Management portfolio and serving as a central point of contact/coordination for the analytical, evaluative and organizational management functions contributing directly to the accomplishment of the Area research mission.

  • Supports the responses to requests for reports and data calls from ARS and USDA and searches, analyzes and presents information. Works with Area and location personnel in developing and correlating required data/information and recommendations. Conducts preliminary background analysis and reviews to determine the scope of the subject-matter involved; tracks information, develops spreadsheets; develops strategic plans and action items, and provides timely responses.   25%
  • Advises on coordination of the preparation and participates in the editing and review of background material and presentations for meetings, speaking engagements, conferences, and off-site visits involving the AD and AADs.   25%
  • Advises on coordination of all ARMPs activities including reviewing and providing comments on ARMP strategic planning documents; developing and reviewing multiyear analyses; developing alternative management scenarios using existing and/or developing new software packages; and providing overviews/ summaries/action plans for the Directors.   25%
  • Tracks information and develops spreadsheets and responses in order to meet tight deadlines and ensure timeliness of responses. In addition, works with location Administrative Officers and ARS HQ staff in gathering information to coordinate Area plans and policies as well as responses and for developing Area priorities   25%

Other:
  • Travel Requirements: Support for training and workshops.
  • Overnight travel: Rarely, maybe once every 6 months.
  • Air travel anticipated: Most travel will be by GOV.
