Liaison Engineer I

WHAT YOU'LL DO
As part of the Engineering team, the Liaison Engineer I will formulate solutions to address nonconforming parts and systems on the airplane found during production. Repair solutions and corrective actions will take into consideration: composite structures, interiors, payloads, electrical systems, functional testing, finishes, aerodynamics, electromagnetic environment, damage tolerance, fatigue, static strength, propulsion, safety, and more.
Essential duties include:
- Formulate structural repairs and/or conduct static strength analysis to determine damaged or defective production part usage criteria
- Serve as a member of the Material Review Board (MRB) to determine the disposition for nonconforming parts
- Interpret engineering drawings and help correct errors on drawings and documents identified during manufacturing operations
- Work with Quality Control, Manufacturing, and other Engineering departments to resolve engineering-related production problems
- Provide engineering support to Quality Control and Manufacturing to develop and implement product/process improvements
- Work with Quality Control, Manufacturing, and other Engineering departments to research technical, operational, and quality issues in support of executing final engineering solutions
- Review drawings for improvements, suggest changes, and complete Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
- Conduct in-depth project work in Manufacturing, Mechanical Design, Structures, and Flight Test related engineering fields
- Develop experience in Federal Aviation Regulations and regulatory processes
- Other duties as assigned or required
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
- 1-2 years of relevant experience or education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Materials, Mechanical, or closely related discipline
- Understanding of basic engineering principles including statics, dynamics, strength of materials, and fluid mechanics
- Ability to follow prescribed process, specifications, and guidelines
- Work well independently and in a team with a positive attitude & professional presence
- Strong knowledge of computer-aided design tools
- Strong mechanical design aptitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future
