Avionics Liaison Engineer

WHAT YOU'LL DO
As part of the Engineering Department, the Avionics Liaison Engineer will create design solutions to address nonconforming electrical parts, assemblies, and systems on an airplane. This includes correcting build or design errors found during production. Repair solutions will take into consideration: interiors, electrical systems, functional testing, finishes, electromagnetic environment, safety, and more. Other expectations may include:
- Help evaluate and resolve engineering-related production problems for electrical parts, assemblies, and systems
- Write test procedures to define if defects are acceptable
- Use avionics software to understand issues and identify acceptable solutions
- Assist in troubleshooting electrical and avionics systems
- Identify how issues could cause problems with other parts/assemblies and coordinate with others to implement a solution
- Stay current with production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and other related information
- Coordinate with quality control, manufacturing, and other departments to provide technical support or obtain information
- Investigate reports of defective, damaged, or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment, or systems to determine the nature and scope of the problem
- Serve as a member of the material review board to determine the disposition of defective or damaged parts
- Interpret engineering drawings and aid in the correction of errors on drawings and documents identified during operations
- Develop experience in Federal Aviation Regulations and regulatory processes
- Examine, measure, inspect, or test defective parts for conformance to engineering design drawings or blueprint specifications, using precision measuring and testing instruments, devices, and equipment
- Analyze and write production discrepancies, disposition with production and design knowledge, and repair methods
- Check drawings, suggest changes, and complete ECN/DCNs
- Other duties as assigned or required
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
- 1-2 years relevant experience or education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, or a closely related discipline
- Understanding of basic electrical engineering principles and design standards
- Work well independently and in a team with a positive attitude & professional presence
- Strong knowledge of computer-aided design tools
- Strong electrical design aptitude and capability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy, and attention to detail
- Reliable and dependable with an excellent attendance and punctuality record
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future
