Dessert Holdings is looking for a dynamic Senior Human Resources Manager responsible for HR leadership at our manufacturing facility in Delta, BC.  Reporting to the regional Sr. Human Resources Director, this position requires both hands-on execution as well as support of HR processes, programs, policies, and management practices that are in alignment and support overall Company objectives.

The hired candidate can expect to make between $110,000 to $125,000 annually. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with site management through providing advice, support, and coaching in a visible and approachable way to foster a culture consistent with company values.
  • Provide support and guidance to the HR team at the facility when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise or are escalated.
  • Manage and improve performance review and goal setting process and tools, working with all leaders across the business to ensure alignment.
  • Develop employee communications and identify opportunities to improve communication in support of employee engagement and understanding of compensation and benefit programs and performance review/merit pay process.
  • Partner with departmental leaders on job design, organization structure, job descriptions, and expectations to ensure roles and responsibilities are clear in all functions.
  • Partner with HR and Operations leadership to define and execute talent strategy related to current and future talent needs, recruiting, succession planning, retention, and labor models.
  • Ensure compliance with labour regulations and Collective Bargaining Agreement and participate in meetings with the union.
  • Partner with internal and external partners on unemployment, worker's comp, hiring and onboarding, terminations, and compliance.
  • Partner with Safety and Operational leadership to develop a safety culture, strategy for employee safety, and a return-to-work program.
  • Identify training and development needs, define budget, and develop training or work with external resources to deliver.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or business management
  • At least 5 years of experience managing Human Resource functions, including experience with staffing, employee relations, benefits/compensation, and organizational development
  • Prior experience in a union environment is required
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Prior HRIS experience (UKG a plus)
  • Human Resources Certification preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
