POSITION SUMMARY: The Utility Worker I – Water Distribution position is responsible for a multitude of tasks which may vary from day to day, but will primarily involve performing tasks required in operation, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution system and related components; performs work as assigned in water meter reading and maintenance and sewer collection systems.  Entry-level position which trains to acquire skill in installation and repair of water and sewer piping and all related components, water meter reading, installation and repair, and equipment maintenance and operation in preparation for future advancement. 

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING

A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Additional licenses or certifications may be required for this position. 
 
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING
One (1) year of experience in performing semi-skilled construction, maintenance tasks on water distribution and sewer collection systems, or other related maintenance, mechanical, or construction work is preferred.
 
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be highly engaged in the department's goals, and be able to work cooperatively with City of Branson leadership in achieving those goals.
Must demonstrate excellent customer service to the department's internal or external customers. 
Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
Must possess strong problem solving, interpersonal communication and relational skills, good organizational skills, sound judgment, initiative, flexibility, and be detail-oriented.  
Must possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position. 
Possession of a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License with Air Brake endorsement is required within 12 months of hire date. 
Possession of a Missouri level "I" Water Distribution Certificate of Competency is required within 18 months of hire date.
Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
Tattoos, Scarification, Body Art, and Body Modifications must meet City of Branson Employee Appearance at Work policy.
Must act safely and follow safety standards while at work. 
Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation, drug and alcohol screening, a Pulmonary Fitness (PFT), and physical capability screening.

WORK HOURS:       Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Occasional After Hours Needed

WORK LOCATION:  In and around the City of Branson, Missouri; This position requires work to be performed onsite. 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:    The starting hourly wage is $20.05 per hour and will increase to $20.85 per hour after 6 months of successful probation. Please click on this link for compensation/benefits information.
