HR Intern

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Intern to assist with an employee file audit project. This internship offers hands-on experience in human resources management, with a focus on ensuring compliance and maintaining accurate employee records. You will work closely with the HR team to review, organize, and audit employee files, while gaining exposure to core HR processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting a comprehensive audit of employee files to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Review and organize documentation, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and confidentiality of employee records.
  • Identify and document missing or incomplete paperwork, following up with relevant departments or employees for corrections.
  • Update HR databases and systems to reflect accurate employee information.
  • Help with creating and updating checklists and templates for maintaining compliance standards.
  • Work closely with HR staff to streamline processes and ensure the efficient handling of sensitive information.
  • Prepare reports on audit findings and suggest improvements to record-keeping practices.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to support the HR team.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 3rd or 4th year in college strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Previous experience or coursework in HR or file management is a plus, but not required.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work will be determined at the time of the offer. Average of 20 hours/week.
