Court Bailiff/Building Security - Part Time

POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to provide a uniformed police presence to ensure the overall safety and security of the Branson Municipal Court for employees and those who are engaged in court-related business. This includes providing overall security for the common areas surrounding Municipal Court proceedings. This position works under supervision and reports directly to a Police Sergeant, and indirectly to a Police Lieutenant, the Assistant Police Chief, and the Police Chief. 


WORK HOURS:              Part Time (approx. 20 hours per week); Shift may vary

WORK LOCATION:        City of Branson, Missouri; City Hall.  This position requires work to be performed onsite.


MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of a Certified Law Enforcement Academy is required. 
• Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri P.O.S.T. Certificate as a condition of employment. Those candidates with certifications from other states will be allowed 30 days to receive P.O.S.T. Certification in the state of Missouri after the offer of employment is made. 
• Two (2) years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience, municipal security, court security, or related field is required.
 
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
• Possession of CPR and First Aid certificates is preferred.

MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
• Must be at least 21 years of age. 
• Must possess no felony convictions at any time while employed by the City of Branson.
• Tattoos, Scarification, Body Art, and Body Modifications must meet City of Branson Employee Appearance at Work policy.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position.
• Vision must be correctable to 20/40 and pass the Ishihara color vision test and/or be able to recognize the colors of traffic signals and devices showing red, green, and amber.
• Must be highly engaged in the department's goals, and be able to work cooperatively with City of Branson leadership in achieving those goals.
• Must demonstrate excellent customer service to the department's internal or external customers. 
• Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
• Must possess strong logical problem solving skills, strong interpersonal communication and relational skills, sound judgment, initiative, flexibility, and be detail-oriented.  
• Must act safely and follow safety standards while at work. 
• Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings, a background investigation, polygraph, psychological, and medical/physical examinations.
