Real Estate Accountant

This position reports in-office 5 days a week 8am - 5pm at the Glen Mills, PA headquarters.

The Real Estate Accountant will assist in performing accounting duties relating to the investment properties within the real estate.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in performing accounting duties related to investment properties owned (GJEs, GL reconciliations, AR/invoicing, etc.), utilizing Yardi property management software.
  • Record and Maintain AR, perform tenant invoicing for properties managed internally.
  • Perform collection follow-up and distribute monthly AR aging.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements.
  • Assist in preparing Balance Sheet account reconciliations.
  • Organize and Prep third-party reporting packages for accounting review.
  • Review and verify supporting documentation for weekly disbursements and funding requests from third-party property managers; prepare wire transfer requests and initiate funds transfers.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and prepare related reports, as required.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong financial accounting and analytical skills.
  • Comprehension of GAAP; RE industry specialized accounting/reporting preferred.
  • Experience developing and generating reporting using Yardi or other comparable Real Estate property management software preferred.
  • PC-related skills (Microsoft Office and other standard office software applications and accounting / property management software applications) preferred.

Education & Work Experience:

  • B. A. or B. S. Degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university required.
  • 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
