Qualifications:

Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience in IT and telecommunications OR BA/BS Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar

  • Knowledge of, and skill in systems testing and evaluation principles, methods, and tools sufficient to plan and carry out difficult and complex systems integration and configuration assignments; applying IT security principles and methods and IT security regulations, policies, and requirements, specifically in telecommunications; knowledge of test and evaluation methods and procedures, performance tuning tools and techniques, and systems diagnostic tools and fault identification techniques
  • Experience required with Windows
  • Cisco CallManager; Cisco Unified Messaging; MicroSoft Teams Phone
Duties:

Serve as IT specialist on project to upgrade the telephone systems at New River Gorge Park and Preserve. Project work is expected to be intermittent.

  • Plan and coordinate product and equipment installation and lifecycle upgrades, overseeing and resolving technical and administrative problems, controlling current versions and future releases of hardware and applications software, and documenting the physical configuration of the systems.    30%
  • Optimize the functionality and performance of systems. Maintain systems integrity and availability, anticipating likely capacity or configuration problems and initiating corrective or preventive actions. Diagnose and recover failed systems.    30%
  • Consult with customers to identify priorities and best approaches for integrating systems administration requirements into daily operations. Determine best approaches for implementation aligned to Department and the organization?s strategic and funding priorities.    30%
  • Research options for problem resolution and recommendations. Ensure guidance and work products comply with Department and the organization?s IT security requirements. Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities and risks.    10%

  • Physical requirements: Primarily sedentary. The work does not require any special physical effort.
