Scope of Position

The Safety & Security Officer is responsible for ensuring all safety and guest service standards are executed at the highest level.
This person will conduct patrolling procedures following departmental guidelines, ensure all programs and processes to protect company assets, and reduce personal safety risks are executed in alliance with the Bass Pro Shops Hospitality and departmental standards.
Safety and Security Officers will be responsible for investigating incidents, managing guest complaints, compiling data for accurate, timely reporting, and all other daily tasks as well as filling out Daily Activity Reports (DAR).

Duties and Responsibilities?

  • Ensure proper execution of assigned duties.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and reputation.
  • Knowledgeable of, adhering to, promoting, and enforcing all policies and procedures of Big Cedar Lodge.
  • Serve as an ambassador to the Big Cedar Lodge Safety & Security Department, interacting with guests and providing genuine Ozark Hospitality in every interaction.
  • Assist with processing Lost & Found items accurately and in a timely, professional manner.
  • Complete DAR each day with accuracy and submit all activity to the Leadership Team.
  • Conduct and document investigations into all claims and reports per established timelines and requirements.
  • Provide quality work and complete assignments in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Understand and apply job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities.
  • Proactively maintain the skills required for perform the job.
  • Live out our shared service standard of "I assist and practice teamwork in, an outside my department." This will be achieved by gladly steeping in to help other departments in times of need such as assisting or covering for front desk agents, doing room swaps, unlocking guest rooms, helping build fired in fireplaces or taking fireplace material to guest, leading lost guest to their destination, and other needs that may arise. 
  • All other duties as requested by your management team. 

Experience/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required
  • 2+ years of Hospitality Security experience (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication.
  • Strong employee relations experience.
  • Ability to follow instructions as directed and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Valid in-state Driver’s Licenses and meet Company insurability requirements.
  • Must be initiative-taking and able to work in a collaborative environment with an emphasis on total guest satisfaction.
  • Must possess strong critical thinking skills; be able to identify and resolve problems promptly, gather and analyze information objectively, use reasoning even when managing emotional situations.
  • Ability to focus attention on details
  • Able to work flexible schedules/shifts as needed for a 7-day operation

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely lift to 50# unassisted.
  • Ability to sit, stand, squat, lift, and/or walk for the duration of the scheduled shift, (up to 10 consecutive hours).
  • Ability to maneuver wilderness terrain without assistance.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme elements of weather.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and execute verbal and written instruction
