Metal Fabrication Shop -Foreman

*Located in Nixa, MO

Position Summary:   Read and interpret architectural drawings, sketches and renderings of metal fixtures, chandeliers, copper lanterns, gates and railings.  Material take-offs for work order production; bill of materials lists; material requisitions as needed

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee safe construction of metal items using the following tools and machinery: band saw, Pirana multi-tool, welders, pneumatic and mechanical hammers, forges, plasma cutters, brake, torches and other miscellaneous metalworking tools and equipment.
  2. Generate a bill of materials from architectural drawings.
  3. Construction document take-off of material and provide to metal shop supervisor for assimilation of work order for major store projects.
  4. Provide instruction to metalworkers on proper procedures for metalworking, including lighting and metal design signatures of Bass Pro Shops.  Have working knowledge of safe and proper procedures of metalworking in accordance with local, state and OSHA requirements.
  5. Assist in scheduling of work.
  6. Delegate work to associates.
  7. Track progress of work orders from beginning through fabrication and shipping with appropriate paperwork.  Ensure quality control during fabrication.  Inspect finished product for completeness before shipping and ensure that labeling is complete for shipping and jobsite identification.
  8. Develop templates, forms and jigs for accurate and quick production of metal items.
  9. Maintain and update inventory of steel and copper and deliver information for re-ordering to production manager.
  10. Oversee product for shipping by palletizing, crating, labeling and providing count and item description to the production manager.
