Group Leader - LPI

Summary of Position:

            This position is responsible for the basic coordination of activities of employees engaged in L.P.I.       

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Follow all short sheets, standard operating procedures and Amphenol’s company safety regulations.   
  • Responsible for coordinating personnel and product within the LPI department to meet company goals.
  • Work with Quality and Engineering to disposition department related quality and process issues.
  • Maintain all department materials and supplies.
  • Perform process audits and inventory cycle counts.
  • Coordinates all training activities to ensure operators are appropriately trained to perform their job duties as outlined in the SOP’s.
  • Ensures all personnel within the department are adhering to company policy and procedures.
  • Assign daily tasks, schedule equipment preventative measures and maintain department machinery as required.
  • Generate and interrupt business reports to stay in line with the company priorities and objectives.
  • Setup the Manual and Automated Screen Presses.                                                                                      
  • Identify defects and trouble shoot. .                                              
  • Work with various types of materials including but not limited to, conductive and non-conductive inks, solder mask, and pastes.        
  • Apply mesh to screen chase, clean and apply film to the screens according to the SOP/SS.
  • Operate and maintain a Semi-Automatic vertical coat machine to apply the solder mask to the PCB's.
  • Inspect films/artworks utilizing a hand-held magnifier, able to identify defects and provide feedback to the departmental GL/ Supervisor.
  • Align film/ artwork to the coated panels and expose as outlined in the SOP/SS.
  • Operate the LPI developer and inspect/ touchup panels for defects.  
  • This position may require overtime for coverage on alternate shifts and weekends.    
  • Operate a solder strip and pre-clean pumice scrub machine.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.  

Requirements: (Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses)

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and follow all short sheets/customer documents.
  • Proven leadership abilities, prior group leader or coordinator experience.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, team-building and organization skills.
  • Ability to maintain/develop reports, and analyze data – Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office-Outlook/Word/Excel.
  • Ability to work standing for extended periods of time and able to lift up to 35 lbs. safely.       
  • 2+ years of PCB experience.
  • Prior LPI experience preferred.
