Keystone Ancient Forest Visit Center Coordinator

Keystone Ancient Forest Hours of Operation:
Open Thursday 7am-2pm 
Friday-Sunday 7am-6pm

This position is Thursday through Sunday (possible alternating weekends but not guaranteed) 

Job Summary:

Responsible for the appearance and cleanliness of the Keystone Ancient Forest and facilities thereof to include minor administration, maintenance, and coordination of volunteers.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Open and close facilities during operating hours
  • Greet visitors and provide information as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of visitor center and grounds
  • Spot check trails clearing of light debris
  • Submit work orders to parks in the event of impassable trails or downed trees
  • Coordinate volunteers
  • Coordinate and promote field trips
  • Coordinate and execute events
  • Assist with Keystone Ancient Forest social media
  • Schedule and facilitate facility rentals
  • Other Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver License
  • Six months of customer service experience
  • Knowledge of relevant city, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies
  • Knowledge of Parks and Recreations guidelines
  • Knowledge of Parks and Recreations equipment and facilities
  • Skill in the use of computers and various software programs
  • Skill in the operation of computers and other types of modern office equipment
  • Skill in oral and written communication
  • Ability to organize and prioritize
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance

Additional Information:

Supervisory Controls: The supervisor assigns work in terms of somewhat general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with instructions and established procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.

Guidelines:  Guidelines include laws and regulations regarding the sharing of information on the internet, on television, and through media outlets, and City and department standard operating procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application.

Complexity: The work consists of related maintenance duties.  Inclement weather contributes to the complexity of the position.

Scope and Effect: The purpose of this position is to manage the day-to-day activities of the Keystone Ancient Forest. Successful performance provides a well-maintained facility.

Contacts:  Contacts are typically with other City employees and members of the public.

Purpose of Contacts: Contacts are typically to provide services and to resolve problems.
