POSITION SUMMARY:  The Electrician I position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and electronic equipment across various city facilities, primarily focusing on water treatment facilities and wastewater facilities. Responsibilities include wiring and connecting communication systems, setting up test equipment, diagnosing and repairing electrical systems and motors, and maintaining programmable logic controllers (PLC) and monitoring systems. The technician assists with calibrating and maintaining control devices, inspects power systems, and ensures the functioning of high-voltage equipment and emergency generators. This role also involves coordinating with operators and supervisors to manage planned or urgent electrical work. This position works under the direct supervision of the Division Manager and/or the Division Supervisor and reports indirectly to the Assistant Director and the Director of Utilities.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:  The starting hourly wage is $25.26 per hour and will increase to $26.27 per hour after 6 months of successful probation. Please click on this link for compensation/benefits information

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING

  • A High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Three (3) years of experience in electrical component installation, maintenance, and repair is required.
  • National Electric Code certification is required.
  • Additional licenses or certifications may be required for this position.

MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must be highly engaged in the department's goals, and be able to work cooperatively with City of Branson leadership in achieving those goals.
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service to the department's internal or external customers.
  • Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position.
  • Tattoos, Scarification, Body Art, and Body Modifications must meet City of Branson Employee Appearance at Work policy.
  • Must be willing to work Call Out duty, On-Call duty rotation, and emergency calls outside of normal work hours as scheduled. This will include evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
  • Must act safely and follow safety standards while at work.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.


WORK HOURS:              Monday through Friday, 7am to 3:30pm; Occasional After Hours Needed
WORK LOCATION:        In and around the City of Branson, Missouri; This position requires work to be performed onsite.
