Being Age 55 or Older is Good for The Environment! The Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Administrative / Office support for individuals age 55 and over to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through a grant administered program through National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions). This is a unique program where your talents, expertise and experience will truly be valued. You'll be working side-by-side with EPA staff that are doing important work every day. Benefits: Paid Health Insurance Premium when working over 60 hours in 2 week pay period, Paid Vacation, Paid Sick Time, Paid Federal Holidays Plus One Individual Holiday, and optional Vision and Dental Insurance available. This position requires a background security check including 5 year questionnaire, fingerprinting and identification verification prior to start. Please note that due to EPA Policy, this opportunity only applies to United States Citizens. Local applicants only. Must live within local commuting distance and be able to work onsite as scheduled at the Downtown Denver EPA office.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 year(s) of experience in Large Organizations OR HS/GED Degree in General Studies OR Previously completed training in Administrative Support

  • User-end knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Products
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS OneDrive, Adobe, Copying Machine
  • Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Access, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Adobe
Duties:

Provide general administrative support within EPA management and information systems. Assist in organizing Branch meetings and events.

  • Meeting support (scheduling, meeting minutes)   20%
  • Processing Telework, awards and other administrative forms including Travel forms on behalf of employees   20%
  • Organizing/updating documents on websites and in Teams/SharePoint sites   20%
  • Organizing Branch events (reserving venues, agenda development)   20%
  • Assisting with correspondence, routing documents, and producing flyers   20%

Other:
  • Mandatory training for all EPA employees (e.g., internet security, continuity, CUI, etc.)
  • Time available to improved O365 skills through Skillport and EPA 0365 trainings
