1st and 3rd Shift Quality Technicians (Temp to Perm After 3 Months)

We are seeking 1st and 3rd Shift Quality Technicians to join our Quality team in Newburyport, MA at Dianne's Fine Desserts, a subsidiary of Dessert Holdings.

  • 1st Shift - Monday – Thursday – 6:30 am to 4:00 pm (Some flexibility may occasionally be required)
  • 3rd Shift - Sunday – Thursday – 10:00 pm to 7:30 am (Some flexibility may occasionally be required)
  • $20 - $24 /hr + 3rd shift differential of $2.25/hr
  • Hourly pay rate dependent on experience (+ Benefits when hired in perm role - See at end of posting)

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in a food or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with others.
  • Knowledge of baking and finished products preferred.
  • Team- oriented approach to problem solving and troubleshooting, with strong communication and teaching skills.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented skills required.
  • Knowledge of food safety issues, GMPs and other requirements in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must be able to perform basic math skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend basic instructions and process of the job.
  • Basic to Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite computer experience required.
  • May be required to work overtime from time to time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow Company Food Safety Plan and report any food safety issues to supervisor or immediately.
  • Provide guidance for employees on proper food safety and handling practices.
  • Verify sanitation procedures with ATP Machine.
  • Responsible for proper documentation/recordkeeping for all food safety and quality activities as required by the food safety plan.
  • Monitor temperatures of coolers and freezers during shift.
  • Verify monitoring equipment such as metal detection and weigh check are performing properly during the shift with a verification step.
  • Perform EMP swabbing as needed.
  • Perform allergen swabs.
  • Perform equipment calibrations (i.e., scale, thermometer).
  • Perform Sensory evaluations on finished products.
  • Collect samples of ingredients, WIP, finished product as needed for analysis.
  • Perform monthly glass and brittle plastic audit and participate in the monthly GMP audit for the facility.
  • Responsible for inspecting proper sanitation of area at pre-operational/setup (Pre-op), during production with emphasis at product changeover and end of shift/production.
  • Perform daily quality walk through for each shift, and follow up with the necessary personnel for corrective actions.
  • Monitor the production records on the floor to ensure that they are traceable and completed.
  • Oversee the safe food practices involved in production and the warehouse with safety focus on personal hygiene, product storage, and product temperature.
  • Responsible for properly and safely using equipment and ensuring it is suitable for safe use.
  • Work with all associates to maintain a state of inspection readiness at all times.
  • Monitor production to ensure all ingredients and supplies are properly stored and labeled at all times.
  • Any other duties as required by Quality Assurance Manager or senior leadership.
