Project Scheduler

THE OPPORTUNITY:

PTW is hiring a Project Scheduler to join our team in the Fort McMurray, AB area. If you are available, we want to hear from you! 

GOOD TO KNOW:

  • 7/7 shift
  • Flights provided out of Calgary or Edmonton
  • Camp provided
  • SAGD facility, Operations Construction Team

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • The scheduling role involves assembling and coordinating information, people, materials, and equipment along with all vital resources to complete tasks.
  • Create project scheduling for ongoing projects at site
  • Ensure all information in a project schedule is accurate and updated as needed.
  • Craft an efficient schedule for the execution of project.
  • Assess employee hours spent on projects and reports efficiency.
  • Work with staff from different departments to collaborate and maintain coordination.
  • Perform quality control assessments on projects in progress.
  • Monitor project for schedule compliance.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience using Prometheus, Primavera and SAP.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Journeyperson or Engineer or technologist with a minimum 8 years of relevant industry experience
  • Understanding of construction execution strategy.
  • Schedule regulatory work as per a published regulatory calendar.
  • Work with operations day-ops and execution coordinators daily to update schedules.
  • Participate and/or chair in the planning and scheduling backlog meetings.
  • Facilitate weekly schedule review meetings with the OCT team to discuss ongoing activities, prioritize activities, review upcoming scheduled work 
  • Provide weekly schedule utilization with OCT workforce availability.
  • Participate in reviews of planning and scheduling procedures for ongoing improvements.
  • Liaise with vendors to arrange service bookings, accommodations, tooling, etc.
  • Must possess maintenance and industrial oil field electrical experience.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling, project controls, Work Breakdown Structures, Earned Value Management.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Team player as well as self-motivated, responsible, proactive, and reliable.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to work safely and follow/understand procedures.
  • Ability to plan, organize, budget, and monitor project performance.
  • Must be reliable and dependable (i.e.: punctual and ready to work).
  • For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines.  A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
