Quality Manager

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the plant quality functions and personnel to safely, responsibly, consistently, and cost-effectively test and produce products that meet all applicable government, customer, and company expectations. The Quality Manager will oversee all plant employees assigned to Quality and Document Control.  

 

Duties/Responsibilities 

  • Manage the plant Quality team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.  

  • Ensure the facility's quality system meets the appropriate ISO9001 and TL9000 standards. 

  • Monitor and report on the performance of the Quality Management System for review and as a basis for continuous improvement.  

  • Ensure customer requirements are communicated throughout the organization to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous quality improvement.  

  • Serve as a liaison with external bodies on Quality Management System matters. 

  • Collaborate with Management to formulate and establish company policies, operating procedures, and goals. 

  • Assist Engineering and Manufacturing in problem identification, investigation, and resolution. 

  • Serve as a member of the internal audit team. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.   

  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing management. 

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. 

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven quality management experience preferred. 

  • Experience managing ISO 9001 preferred. 

  • Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes. 

  • Proficiency in Quality Management, ERP tools, and MS Office applications.

Work Environment 

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential job functions. 

  • Employees regularly work near moving, vibrating, mechanical equipment, occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  Exposed to minimal risk of electrical shock.  The noise level is moderate.
