Qualifications:

Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience OR BA/BS Degree in Agriculture, natural resources, agronomy or related field of study

  • Experience with the Special Uses Database System, experience with processing lands adjustment cases, and experience with all the phases of processing a special use permit. A driver's license is required.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel
Duties:

Administers all phases of special use authorizations (screening, processing, NEPA analysis, etc.) of permits, term permits, leases, and/or easements, for a variety of activities (such as those listed in Forest Service Handbook 2709.11, Chapter 10), including linear rights-of-ways, electric power lines, communication uses, etc. Processes Lands Adjustment cases such as land exchanges, purchases, donations and STA cases.

  • Process special use permit applications   60%
  • Process lands adjustment cases   30%
  • Conduct lands inspections and other administrative tasks   10%

  • Travel Requirements: Travel to other Ranger as needed for project support, travel to special use permit authorization sites for field inspections, government vehicle will be provided.
  • Health and Safety Considerations: Valid driver?s license Required to review annual Job Hazard Analysis documents at the Supervisor?s Office. Wearing required PPE such as hard hat, sturdy hiking boots, long
  • Safety Gear Use: Hard hat will be required as per the JHA, but will be required while out of the vehicle and in the field working. Safety vest will be required as per the JHA, but at a minimum while working in road right-of-ways of county, state and federal highways. Other safety gear, depending upon the assignment may be required: such as gloves, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, safety vest and safety goggles/glasses.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to walk and hike in steep and uneven terrain, sometimes in inclement weather such as rain, snow and heat. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
