Maintenance Technician I

This position is primarily responsible for the routine maintenance, repair and installation of complex printed circuit board manufacturing equipment, with additional expectations of flexibility to support some facility needs as situations may arise/dictate.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose systems & troubleshoot emergency equipment issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • A working knowledge of all aspects of AC power (3 phase to single phase) and DC power, electronics, computers, and PLC’s as pertains to equipment in a manufacturing environment that includes complex systems that integrate all these functions to allow the equipment to operate.
  • Experience with Hitachi Drill and Orbotech Automated Optical Inspection equipment a plus, but not required.
  • Read & interpret operation/maintenance manuals, as well as other technical documents (i.e. mechanical blueprints/electrical schematics).
  • Prior experience in the maintenance of Printed Circuit Board Manufacturing equipment a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to effect at least temporary repairs to PVC/copper plumbing in an emergency.
  • Perform a variety of other maintenance activities on a proactive & reactive daily basis. These activities do not require expertise such as certifications but are highly desirable: welding (plastic& metal), facility upkeep, and some limited HVAC troubleshooting of basic issues.
  • Follow a preventative maintenance schedule & procedures as required by various company certifications (ISO, NADCAP, etc.) that meet the criteria of the certifications concerning actual work performance and documentation.
  • Perform daily activities in a chemical environment.                                                                                  
  • Self-Starter capable of managing daily activities (assigned routine and emergencies) with minimal supervision.
  • This position may require overtime for coverage on alternate shifts and weekends.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
  • Log all work done and parts inventory used into the Fiix CMMs system.

Requirements:

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or 2 years related experience in manufacturing equipment maintenance is required and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (electro-mechanics preferred).                  
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work standing for extended periods of time and able to lift up to 50 lbs. safely.
  • Familiarity with standard OSHA safety procedures and requirements.      
  • “User” knowledge of Microsoft Office at a minimum; to be able to troubleshoot PC based systems that control manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to information into a Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS)

Must have excellent communication skills and ability/flexibility to work in a fast paced environment.
