Director of Residences

A busy executive couple would like to hire an experienced Director of Residences to spearhead daily operations and elevate the level of service at the principals' residences.

The Director of Residences will create standards with the principals' input that will ensure their residences are beautifully maintained at a consistently high level and that the family and their guests enjoy a seamless level of hospitality. The Director of Residences will develop and execute an annual plan for the management of the family's properties spread across six locations; this will include managing budgets, supervising and communicating household plans to the staff, and overseeing various external stakeholders, contractors, and vendors.

The Director of Residences is highly organized, a strong and proven leader, and has a keen attention to detail. The Director of Residences will efficiently manage multiple projects while prioritizing the family's needs.

The Director of Residences could be based in Boston, MA or Santa Barbara, CA. Travel to the various properties and the flexibility to be on call after business hours is required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • 360-degree oversight for the principals' properties.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the principals and the Family Office team.
  • Manage, evaluate, and develop current staff. Vet and onboard new staff as needed.
  • Enhance operations to best-in-class standards.
  • Coordinate and strengthen relationships with vendors and contractors.
  • Proactive preventative maintenance and project management. Ensure all systems are performing to optimal levels.
  • Create and manage budgets, protocols, and procedures for each property.
  • Create and update household manuals, inventories, and annual calendars.
  • Ensure property readiness for principals and guests.

 

Qualifications:

  • The right candidate is a proven leader with seven+ years of experience in a similar role and verifiable references.
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required. A plus if you have a degree in business administration, real estate, property management, or a similar field.
  • Excellent communication skills and project management.
  • Highly organized, efficient, a self-starter who multi-tasks with ease and pivots as priorities change.
  • Reliable, discreet, anticipatory, with sound judgement.
  • Understand budgeting and reporting and have experience with Excel, calendaring, and expense reports.
  • The ability to travel as needed required.

 

Schedule:

Generally, Monday through Friday, business hours, with a 24/7 mindset and absolute flexibility to work afterhours, on weekends, and holidays as needed.

 

Compensation

A salary range of $250,000 -$450,000 offered, depending on experience, with an excellent benefits package.
