Warehouse Relief Team Lead

The company employs approximately 3,000 people across eight manufacturing facilities and its headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota. The manufacturing facilities are geographically dispersed, with two facilities in Canada and one each in Colorado, Texas, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, and North Carolina.

Position Description:    

The Warehouse Relief Team Lead provides leadership, direction, coaching, and training to warehouse personnel.  They are responsible and accountable for performance standards and ensure company policy, procedure, and duties are followed and maintained at all times.  Team leads are role models for performance excellence.  Also, this position is required to work in both a Team Lead and Warehouse Worker role.  Priority will be given to shifts as a Team Lead.  When Team Lead support is not required, shifts will be allocated as Warehouse Worker. Flexibility in adjusting schedules and start times on short notice is required for all shift coverage.  Schedules are based on operational needs and flexibility is required for scheduling purposes.  

Responsibilities & Duties

  • The direction of department staff and assignment of duties, training of procedures, processes and policy
  • Planning and organization of daily operating functions and responsibilities
  • Coordination of tasks, priorities and responsibilities
  • Effectively communicating with other departments in order to ensure we achieve organizational results
  • Various team lead and operating functions as they relate to the effective operation of the department
  • Adherence to procedures, safety practices, policy and holding others accountable for the same

Position Requirements:

  • Valid, up-to-date Forklift certification
  • MUST have experience driving both Standup Reach and Counterbalance Ryder forklifts 
  • Focused on detail, accuracy, and a good understanding of inventory control.
  • Scheduling flexibility, comfortable working in a cool working environment
  • Ability to work independently, well organized, effective judgment, strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Leads the workforce by setting high standards for safety, punctuality, attendance, enthusiasm, work ethic and personal effort
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution skills, demonstrated leadership
  • Ability to make change quickly and respond to unplanned situations
  • Proficient with computer applications comfortable learning new systems
    • Candidates will be required to complete a skills evaluation with the manual test.
    • Should have valid Forklift #2 certificate.
    • Heavy lifting is required up to 22 kg.
