Job Overview
 

Under general supervision of the Director, Contracts and Marketing, the Pricing Analyst will contribute to the execution of the Company’s price and market share strategies by leveraging the analysis of market data and business intelligence tools. The primary responsibility of this function is to operate the company’s large portfolio of pharmaceutical products’ price strategies, market analyses, and recommend price-related actions that drive the company’s growth. Analytical skills and a foundational business understanding are essential, as is the ability to motivate others and provide leadership to accomplish team goals without having direct authority over team members.

 

General Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct market research, regular product pricing and profitability analyses. Make recommendations to department leadership of strategic price changes.
  • Identify and present growth opportunities within existing product portfolio and customer base.
  • Monitor daily marketing pricing market changes for all GSMS products; propose price adjustments as needed to the relevant department for approval.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments as needed for approvals, and for the completion of tasks that enable the execution of approved price changes.
  • Create supporting Bid Analyses and communicate the rationale behind recommended strategies. A strong business acumen and analytical capability is key for success in this area.
  • Conduct regular market assessments for price adjustment needs/opportunities; recommend price changes as needed to Business Development department for approval and Pricing & Contracts for processing.
  • Analyze competitive landscape utilization estimates provided by the government to historical market data in order to validate customer projections for the Business Development and Contracts teams.
  • Monitor competitor behavior and continuously improve strategies for proactively maintaining our desired price strategies and profitability.
  • Develop and present compelling data-driven analyses of pricing, sales, and operational data.
  • Support Sales Operations, Business Development, and Customer Service teams with necessary cadenced and ad-hoc analyses.
  • Leverage existing analytics, create new reporting, and develop new dashboards using PowerBI to conduct analyses on price trends, competitive landscape, market share, demand, and product sales activities.
  • Execute and report on pricing strategies developed by the Commercial Team, to drive continuous improvement and refinement of pricing operations and effectiveness.
  • Under direction from management, develop reports and Power BI visualizations to make summaries available for decision-making.
  • Regularly retrieve raw market data for ETL processing (Extract, Transform, Load).

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant commercial analytics & business/sales support experience
  • Mastery-level Excel skills including knowledge of advanced functions such as lookups, conditional programming (i.e., if/then), data validation (e.g., data lists), formatting, etc.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of initiative and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated history of increasing responsibilities with successful outcomes.
  • Highly comfortable working in a team setting, taking direction, and recommending continuous improvements.
  • Accomplishments that reflect teamwork, integrity, and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a demanding environment and deliver quality results in a growing organization.
  • Must have experience building dashboards using Microsoft Power BI data visualization tool.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills with the ability to create attractive operational and metric driven collateral.
  • Effective communication skills including ability to structure ideas and conversations to effectively present findings from research and analysis.

 

Education/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or Associates degree and 3 years of relevant experience; or High school diploma / GED and 5 years of relevant experience

  • Maintain a strong attendance record
  • Must be able to pass drug screening, and background check. Adhere to company’s drug-free workplace policies
  • Must be flexible and able to change direction quickly

 

Physical/Cognitive Requirements:

Ability to move freely throughout the facility

Ability to sit for long periods at a time

Ability to lift, carry objects of up to 25lbs
