Summary

The Business Development Analyst will be responsible for combining data with business acumen to drive opportunities for pipeline development and sales growth. Strong analytical skills and a strong business acumen are essential, as is the ability to communicate market dynamics effectively and proactively engage in business strategy. Creativity and an innovative approach to identifying and developing opportunities is a strong asset in this role.

 

General Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Become a subject matter expert in product, customer and market data
  • Research and understand market updates and data to identify trends, risks and opportunities
  • Develop an expertise in understanding the US Federal pharmaceutical market
  • Identify product and market opportunities for Business Development
  • Conduct in-depth product opportunity analyses and profitability analyses
  • Identify and recommend pricing changes based on market conditions
  • Review and monitor market dynamics for our products and present recommendations for strategy implementation or changes to strategies that will drive sales growth
  • Liaise with cross functional team members and participate in work groups to improve processes and drive solutions to business challenges
  • Provide market assessments and recommendations to aid capacity planning
  • Provide ROI analysis on projects that are being evaluated for development and commercialization
  • Actively seek and maintain market intelligence regarding competitive landscape, products and pricing; Communicate key findings with appropriate internal stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Constructively challenge current strategies and processes to identify areas of improvement and recommend changes for continuous improvement
  • Develop and disseminate market information and competitive intelligence to drive critical business decisions
  • Present well-constructed recommendations to team members and leadership within the Commercial group

Required Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical Marketing, Analytics, Finance, FP&A, or Sales Operations

Intermediate-to-advanced level understanding of data analysis and visualization software (i.e. Tableau, Power BI, etc.)

Advanced Excel capabilities and experience with the Microsoft Office suite

Exceptional ability to translate data into business insights and recommendations

Experience analyzing, validating, and drawing conclusions from large data sets

Exceptional analytical capabilities

Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Authoritative command of complexity and ambiguity, a macro-level thinker

Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry is desired but not required

Maintain a strong attendance record

Must be able to pass screening, drug test and background check.
